  • NEW UPDATAGE

HA I forgot I had that creepy pic of John Mayer up here for forever. So in response to Toumil's plea (and the fact that looking at it again scared me), I took it off.

Things have been going well up here in Dallas. I start my permanent position at RealPage on Monday (for those that haven't heard, I am way excited about having a work laptop and a door on my cubicle). I'm going to be an Implementation Coordinator in Velocity. In case you actually want to know more, the website is www.realpage.com.

In the next couple of weeks I am going to get a NEW CAR! Seriously, not only a new replacement for my old one, but it is actually going to be a brand new one. Hella excited about that as well. I'm getting a Scion xA. Yikes for taking on a car payment, though.

BXO Formal is tomorrow! Very excited about hanging out in Big D with the boys. Sad that I am missing Frankfest, but not nearly as sad that I am missing that cricket game in Austin! Good luck Rohin! Speaking of Austin, this band I like is apparently going to be doing Happy Hour shows two Fridays a month from 6-9 at Beauty Bar. I think that is going to merit taking off early some week. The show is free and for $10 you get a martini and a manicure.  I am so there.

Billing meeting now - then get to relax this weekend! Yay for stuff happening in MY city.

  • Found this in an article about writing professionally, talking about how grammar rules have changed recently:

"It is now preferable to include the second comma when you list three items in a series (mother, daughter, and sister). For example, “The money will be divided between Sally, Tom and Bill” begs the question: do Tom and Bill get 50% and Sally gets 50%? Inserting the second comma: “The money will be divided between Sally, Tom, and Bill” makes the meaning clear. "

Too bad that my English teachers never discovered this "new rule"! I must have been counted off for that 100 times.
